SWEPS is seeking community input on a proposed trail project along the historic Old Truro Road, between Brookhill subdivision in Grand Lake and Grant Road in Enfield.

This section of Old Truro Road—constructed in the late 1700s—is a provincially owned “K” Road with deep historic significance. Once used by stagecoaches connecting Halifax to Truro, the route is now an informal corridor for a variety of recreational users, including hikers, cyclists, equestrians, hunters, and OHV riders.
SWEPS is exploring the possibility of developing the Old Truro Road into a managed, multi-use public trail that would link to existing networks in Dartmouth, Sackville, and Carrolls Corner, while maintaining access for current users and respecting the needs of surrounding communities.

To guide this process, SWEPS has launched a short public survey. If you live in Oakfield, Grand Lake, or nearby areas, or if you currently use the trail, your feedback is especially important.

Take the survey here:

Estimated time: 5 minutes or longer if you’d like to share more.

Your input will help inform the future of this historic corridor and ensure the project reflects the needs and values of the communities it serves.
