SWEPS is expanding its blue-green algae monitoring efforts across 13 sites from the Shubenacadie Canal to Grand Lake. The project includes lab testing to identify high-risk areas and support public safety around local lakes. Recent funding support will help offset lab costs as SWEPS continues working with Dalhousie University, local water utilities, and HRM’s Lake Watchers program. Two public information sessions are planned, including one on June 27 at 7 p.m. at the Gordon R. Snow Community Centre in Fall River.
