Golden Lake Stream

SWEPS addressed major debris blockages in this steep, forested stream corridor, restoring natural flow between Golden Lake and Grand Lake.

About the Stream:

Golden Lake Stream flows from Golden Lake into Grand Lake through a steep, forested corridor near Wellington, NS. Dominated by softwood species like spruce, hemlock, and white pine, this stretch of stream has experienced significant wind throw in recent years. The resulting debris caused blockages and overbank flooding. SWEPS restoration teams addressed these issues in 2014 through intensive debris removal, improving flow and stream function.
